Joe is certainly correct. Always has been a surplus of the power hungry.

And,… they conspire to get it.

They work together, too. But they need to keep it quiet.

The conspiracy theory smear, is one of the stupidest things they ever came up with.

Everyone conspires, most innocently. Parents playing santa claus. Children to miss bedtime.

Evil people wallow in it.

    Direct conspiracy, sometimes yes.
    Similar results can happen when seperate actors have the same hoals, the same education / worldview, and the same tools.
    The first 1970s oil shortage happened when the first post-WWII generation of Mideast princes got back with their PhDs from Wharton and London School of Economics and realized that they should be selling oil by the BTU, rather than by the cost of production.
