I decided to make some syrup again this year. Back to the one pot method. A few gallons maybe. I had gotten carried away and burned out on it a few years back, so I’m easing back into it. More on that later.
I bought these little Canadian taps, pot metal, but pretty solid.
Hang a milk jug on it.
Collect it farmer’s carrying 5 gallon buckets. Today was the third day and my total is 17 gals so far. That’s okay it’s first flow.
That’s 17 gals of sap boiled down to about two gals. Considering first run is more dense, maybe 3 pints of syrup. just getting started.
